I present my idea to my brothers and impatiently wait for their responses.

“It’s been years since we went to the cabin. The women would all love seeing where we went on vacation as kids.” Ronan, thankfully, loves my idea.

Declan twists up the corner of his mouth and I’m worried he won’t want to go. But then his face breaks into a huge smile. “That’s a good point. We’d have to go soon, though. Summer’s nesting and I think if we delay it longer than a week, she won’t want to go.”

Ronan nods, knowingly. “Okay, I’ll talk to Cherry. You talk to Summer.” He points to Declan. “And, Ayden, do you want to invite Jasmine yourself?”

A growl erupts in my chest. “Why would I have one of you guys invite her?”

Ronan raises an eyebrow, but the rest of his face stays the same. “She’s grown close to Cherry and Summer. I was thinking of the two of them.”

“Oh.” I lift my shoulders noncommittally. “I’ll ask her.”

Declan holds up his phone. “Summer already texted back. She’s down and said she’ll make some announcements about the bookshop closing those days.”

“Shit. You texted her? What did you say?” Ronan’s pulling his phone out and frantically typing.

“This weekend, Friday afternoon to Monday morning.”

Ronan’s phone rings before he can finish typing. “Hey sweetie. Yeah, we’re talking about it right now.” He glares at Declan and walks out of the room.

“Ask Reese to rearrange any meetings we have during that time, okay?” I need to get to the bookshop to talk to Jasmine before this becomes too big of a thing.

Whatever this is between Jasmine and me, it’s important. It’s also frighteningly fragile.
